Julie Keyes
Founder & Lead Consultant
Special Interests:
Julie’s passionate work ethic and professional approach are evident in her career achievements. As Head of Humanities at Marlborough College Malaysia, she spearheaded internal CPD programmes and coached and mentored staff, alongside her roles as head of geography, boarding house tutor, and form tutor. On her return to England, Julie took on the position of Deputy Head and Director of Studies at Polwhele House. Julie excelled in the management of staff whilst maintaining a valued role on the teaching staff.
Drawing on her experience from over 15 years in education, Julie founded The Educational Consultant. As lead consultant, she has worked on a large variety of interesting projects, from authoring and filming a module for Discovery Education to in-house training and client consultation at Envoplan.
Julie excels in idea development, from the initial seed of thought to the logistics of implementation. As a passionate and professional leader, Julie strives to develop herself and others. She is a qualified coach, helping NQTs through to senior management, with The HELP Coaching Method: a model she designed and now delivers through her sister company, The Educational Coach.

Nic Taylor
Associate Consultant
Special Interests:
Nicola began her career as a teacher of geography, before moving on to positions in middle and senior leadership. She has completed two Headships and a post as Executive Principal, where she expertly led two secondary schools. Nicola has also worked as Education Director for a small Multi-Academy Trust, working on internal improvements alongside external projects with partners in the broader educational field. Most recently, she has been Interim CEO for the Trust.
Her passion and expertise lie in leadership development and improvement in teaching. Nicola has enhanced her practical experience with a strong commitment to her own professional development, continuing her own education by completing an MA in Effective Education, an NPQH, and most recently, becoming a student member of the Association for Coaching.

Issy Rapacioli
Associate Consultant
Special Interests: Early years, school improvement, curriculum development
Known for her innovation, dedication and spark, Issy has excelled from the very start of her career. As an NQT, she supported Ofsted mentoring ‘requires improvement’ schools. She was part of the NEHSP Excellence Cluster and soon landed roles in senior leadership.
Her expertise in the EYFS is clear, with an extensive pedagogical grasp of building solid foundations for learning. Issy has seen outstanding results and received commendations from key figures in Surrey. She has a sharp eye for data and regulatory compliance.
Issy credits her success in school to the high-level development of provision, purpose and, most importantly, people. She is Mental Health First Aid trained, and previously took on the role as lead spokesperson in the advocation for mental health provisions in education.
Issy’s work outside of the school environment is equally as notable, with a reputable tuition business that has seen her students offered places at some of the UK’s most prestigious schools
In her free time, Issy is a keen dancer. She has performed in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies, as well as at other large scale events.

Kelly Kane
Associate Consultant and Lead Facilitator
Special Interests: Middle leadership, curriculum design
With an impressive ten years of experience in the private school sector, Kelly has undertaken several middle leadership roles alongside her teaching specialisms in English and Drama. She has overseen whole school revamps and the writing of new PSHE curriculums whilst engaging in her passion for pastoral care.
It is perhaps no surprise that her compassion for the welfare of her students and staff has led her to a role in consulting, where she can expertly extend her wealth of knowledge to others.
Kelly is an advocate for CPD and is currently training as a coach. She is delighted to combine her educational skills and experience in her new role at The Educational Consultant, working with those who share passionately the same ethos as herself.
